MP6 Greek Key $2,600.00

THE GREEK KEY

The Greek Key writing instrument is an exquisite design inspired by The shield of King Philip II of Macedon, Greece (Reign 356B.C.-336B.C.) which was decorated with multiple symbols of the meander; The shield itself can be found in the museum of Vergina in Central Macedonia of Greece.
Meanders are common decorative elements in Greek art especially during the Geometric Period when they appeared on many friezes, the top of some porticos and vases. The design is common in present-day architecture as a neoclassical element.

Our newest fine writing instrument inspiration captures the dazzling decorative border constructed from a continuous line, shaped into a repeated motif which is known as the Guilloché pattern, and is enhanced with the enamel on top of the cap to resemble the shield of King Philip II of Macedon.
The components and barrel is meticulously handcrafted from a solid .925 sterling silver rod and engraved to the highest world-class goldsmith standards.  Multiple layers of bonded enamel are fired to the meander (guilloche) patterns adding depth and beauty to the Greek Key design.

The Greek Key writing instrument is limited to production of 88 pieces in Fountain and Roller Ball of each color: Shagreen enamel/Jet Black cap/Rhodium, Ruby Red enamel/Jet Black cap/22 k Vermeil and Royal Blue enamel/Jet Black cap/Rhodium. Greek Key writing instrument is available with an 18k gold nib or in a roller ball.
